    Dear Sir and/or Madam:

I would appreciate recieving any information you may have regarding starting your program in Minnesota – if one hasn’t been started by now. Specifically, I am interested in juvenile offenders as we are seeing a steady growth in juvenile offenders being sent to facilities for “rehabiliation.” Thanks,

    Meg

I heard a story about this program yesterday on the NPR program Hear & Now. It seems like a very worthy project and I do hope that it can change lives for the better. My question is (as it is for all programs that “benefit” felons) what is being done for the victims of these felons? Would they not benefit from such a program as well? I would appreciate a response.

I left a comment on your blog about Robin. She has become like a daughter to my husband and to me. I just want you at “Changing Lives, Changing Minds” to know how proud we are of Robin….Her writing has been the path to her healing. She is a spectacular human being~one who deserves to be free and not behind bars any longer. She will do great things for society, once she is allowed out. We are working towards that end for her. Thank you for validating her wonderful work.

Great article! The lack of long-term recovery options covered by medical insurance is something that has ben long lamented by AA old-timers who got sober and stayed sober as a result of a long-term (30-day) stay. You are right. For some reason, the insurance companies seem to be very short-sighted. AA and AA members will not actively advocate for such a change in policy because of their firm policy of not getting involved in any outside (of AA) controversy. The Washington League failed precisely because of their advocacy of prohibition and AA learned from their mistake.
